Transportation Permits are issued to ensure oversize/overweight vehicles don't damage streets or other infrastructure, that they aren't using streets where conflicting construction activity, closures or special events are occurring, and that they don't use streets that are incapable of accommodating certain commercial vehicles or loads.
VEHICLES OR ACTIVITIES REQUIRING A TRANSPORTATION PERMIT
Transportation Permits are required for all vehicles exceeding the limits of a legal load, as defined by the California Vehicle Code (CVC), and must be carried in the permitted vehicle at all times when said vehicle is being operated on Yorba Linda public streets. Types of equipment typically used in the course of construction include, but is not limited to, street sweepers, water trucks, back-hoe, skip loader, paving machines, cold planning machine, rollers, dump trucks.
Transportation Permits are also required for the moving of Manufactured Housing. In addition to Transportation Permits, pilot cars may be required for the movement of certain oversize/overweight equipment, materials or manufactured housing.
Dirt Haul Permits are required for moving earth materials (dirt, sand and gravel) on public streets and will be processed as Encroachment Permits.
